Free-floating anxiety

Does anybody besides me have free-floating anxiety? It’s like the anxiety is always in me, and it attaches to a certain topic in my life. Then when that crisis is over, and things settle down....the anxiety finds a new topic to worry about.

I’m just so tired of being scared all the time.

Hello!

I could be wrong but have you read at all about Generalized Anxiety Disorder?

It’s sometimes described as worrying about trivial everyday matters to an extreme but it is at least supposedly what I have and I can say personally I describe it as having a voice in the back of my head that absolutely never shuts up and only points out things that are wrong or can go wrong. A lot of the time it is mere background noise but every so often it will touch on things that then get stuck in my head. For example someone saying they’ll text when they get home and not saying a word for about 2 hours afterwards and I begin to mentally freak out and spiral out of control imagining the millions of awful things that could theoretically happen to someone in two hours.

I don’t know that I would describe it as being scared personally but it might be worth looking into. I’m pretty sure anxiety is different for everyone.

I hope you find an answer that at least brings you comfort. Best of luck! 🙂

I feel this way 7 days a week.I only look forward to sleep.Fortunately, my antidepressant is a sedative too

Oh no, you are looking for trouble, drama?? It's your comfort zone probably a childhood filled with family, life drama. You are normal, lots of people share your affliction. Just remember that is what it is and it will eventually vanish:)

Yes, I know how that feels. I have generalized Anxiety Disorder and it is triggered sometimes and I can’t seem to feel comfortable. We are all different, but the same really. Work at it with relaxation techniques and be well. We are all with you for support.😊

I too am scared all the time, exhausted. It's no way to exist.

HIKat63: I too am tired of being scared all of the time. Every single morning I awake with a panic attack. Although I have many reasons to be scared, nothing like yours, but still. I have recently been diagnosed with a horrible illness, I hate where I am living (I have noisy neighbors who destroy any chance I have of peace of mind), the management does nothing, and why. It all boils down to political correctness. I cant say anymore than that, otherwise the word police will come and take me away(just joking to make a point.) And I feel alone most of the time. I could handle all these things if I did not have severe depression and GAD.......robertcass

robertcass, we can only hope to have a serene setting around us in life. The reality

is life is not perfect. Because of our over sensitized nervous system, sounds can trigger

us into panic mode. We feel scared all the time because we don't know what may happen

next. It is a very lonely place to be when dealing with depression and GAD. You may

feel alone in the outside world, but here on the forum you are just one of many who

feel and understand your loneliness and pain. Keep coming here for support even if

just to vent, it helps. :) xx
