Waiting for the sandman

Am I the only one who dreads weekends? It seems to be the loneliest time for me. Glad to be done with it.... If only I could fall asleep.

I don’t like weekends I prefer week days,

I think my reason is due to me suffering with social anxiety.

There are more people around at weekends if you do venture out. So I have tended to stay home weekends...

I don’t like school holidays either, for same reason, and bank holidays ...

Your not alone x 🌺

The worst places for me at weekends are supermarkets and shopping centres I feel like I could faint with so many people around, just too overwhelming.

I feel for the both of you. I don't have social anxiety, just everyone else is usually busy and it's the loneliest time for me. It was also a rough weekend and of course I choose to end it by going grocery shopping. I cried the whole way to the store because I really didn't want to go, but in the end it wasn't so bad. I probably would have been less self conscious if I hadn't been crying too. I'm sure I only felt a fraction of what you guys go through, but still that wasn't a fun feeling.

Hi I used to feel like this for many years, that is until I discovered a lifelong passion that I still do to this day. After that I started going out more and would look forward to weekends. If you are suffering from social anxiety start tackling it as it will be very worthwhile. x

That's awesome you found your passion. It's always easier to get up and go when it's something you love doing. I haven't found anything yet but I haven't exactly put myself out there either. I just need to give myself something to look forward to.

Well when I was a student many years my grant check (yes you got grants in those days and education was free!) ran out before my next one and if I wanted to eat I had to work part time. I got a job in a pub and loved it. That's where I found my passion. x

And what is your passion, if you don't mind me asking?

Playing darts. Someone in the pub team dropped out so I joined instead. My social life took off and I made some friends too. x

Agreed! Is there anything that you enjoyed as a child that you've stopped doing?

Hey Sasha, I pray you look forward to any days that you have to yourself. I understand what you mean especially when hanging out with yourself isn’t enough. Even if you don’t surround yourself with good company, that’s ok!

What do you like to do if you had more time to do them?

Thank you, I appreciate it. I used to look forward to weekends, not so much anymore.

Honestly, I'm simple I'd be fine with staying home and watching a movie, I just don't want to do it alone. If it's wishful thinking, I'd be back to playing softball and going camping often. I miss it.
