On my last post I tried to explain what is the major cause of my stress and terrible anxiety. I was accused of being a scammer! That hurt very much. I come here to get help and sometimes to vent. I thought this was the place to do these things since no one else seems to care about my well being. Well I am still in the same situation. My Embassy still say they can't help! My lawyer is useless! Just keeps taking all my money and not resolving anything. So for those who think I'm just a scammer...come here and spend one day in my shoes!

I'm sorry you're still dealing with everything, I know that alone is exhausting and frustrating. I really wish people took the time to think before they speak. Seeking help and sharing your situation and feelings with us is not an easy thing to do. I'm proud that your still hanging in there, don't let anybody make you feel bad for what you're going through. Ignorance is far too common unfortunately. Sending good vibes your way 😊

Hi have been looking at an expat website with people from Canada who can give on line help with living in D.R.

Two contributors seem to very helpful to people living in D.R. Unclebuck and Planner are very friendly. I found this site by a welcome "Hi to all Canadians living in Sosua and Puerta Plata D.R. Canuckonthemove had 26 replies and another thread-

"The Tinker support thread," may give some support with information. Planner seems to be helping with personal difficulties of accessing services for people living in D.R. and may find the right threads and contacts.

It really is awful when people make negative comments. I'm so sorry that happened and somebody was so insensitive. It has driven me away from this site more than once.

I read your post actually meant to comment on it but got side tracked.its terrible the situation your in I hope somehow it gets resolved with the best outcome.this forum has had a few bad apples recently some people are just on edge with certain posts please don't take it personally.wishing you luck.

Thank you. This situation is real. I am not sitting in a sunny beach tanning and drinking margaritas. I am actually in an apartment that I have my good delivered to. Still no help even from my Embassy. Still not able to leave the country. Been told by the government officials to not discuss problem on any social media! Now that's a threat! They know they broke the law now they don't know what to do now that the Canadian Embassy knows the whole story. Have no idea how this will end. My mental health issues continue to worsen and fear consumes me now replacing rage! Only prayers will help at this point. Unless some lawyer with international experience assists me?

It must be so difficult to find help - did you get your money back as you booked your flight?

If not then I would write them a letter of complaint saying the flight was somehow cancelled with no warning, and you want the money back. Was it a transatlantic flight with a well known company, as other people like to know if some companies are not reliable.

Yes and thank you. It hurt very much that people thought that about me not really knowing anything about me. Took a long time to trust my feelings with anyone again.
