Last night I was a sweat ball all night woke up 3-4x n i just hope its not from this medication switch... ugh I pray this gets easier but if ya'll have any advice or input please feel free to let me know thank you...

Your doctor is teetering you off a bit of the Paxil and has you adding Pristiq. While most SSRIs (Paxil) exhibit the same side effects and benefits as SNRIs (Pristiq), I've found some differences. I took Pristiq and Fetizima...both SNRIs. I found that the side effects came on quicker with Fetizima. I had mood changes (anger) and did feel some small benefits. Depending how long you've taken Paxil, you may be exhibiting minor withdrawal symptoms as you lower that dose and add a new medication. I Googled "Pristiq and sweat" and had hits immediately for night sweats. So, I'm guessing you're fine and just having side effects from the medication. Having replaced the Paxil for Pristiq makes withdrawal a less likely outcome since you have medication in your system. This side effect could and hopefully will go away with prolonged use. If it doesn't and your symptoms are worse and/or you don't feel as well on your medication, talk with your doctor. It'll get easier I believe, but if it doesn't, your doctor will understand and can help guide you to the next step medicinally.

Hang in there. I hope you start feeling better and the side effects find a good rock to crawl under.

I also wanted to add...something about SNRIs (and even SSRIs) makes for poor sleep. Even if you don't wake up and have a solid night. There's some science out there showing REM sleep is harder to achieve and doesn't last as long. Not that I trust a Fitbit sleep app to judge this, but I typically get about 90 minutes to 2 hours of REM sleep a night. When I began Cymbalta, my REM sleep tanked on the Fitbit chart. Like 30 minutes. I wasn't waking up feeling well rested and felt extremely groggy. As they'll always tell you: sometimes the benefits outweigh the risks. I would try to muscle through this for a week or two and see if you feel the benefits are worth the sacrifice. If not, tell your doctor. I'm sure you know and have been told by a billion people, but sleep is absolutely a huge cornerstone (at least in my opinion) of mental health. I did a several page paper on it in college and the studies show it ought to be promoted as much as a healthy diet, exercise, not smoking, and drinking moderately. When we sleep our brain clears out the toxins, does self maintenance, and processes memories in the "in" and "out" boxes. So, perhaps he can find something that might work better or lower the dose so that you aren't suffering.

Sorry for the length and all the info, just like to put in my two cents and then toss a whole dollar bill in ;)
