Anxiety trying to mess with me

Just laying on the couch watching a movie and I keep getting palpitations/thuds/flutters, and hot all of a sudden. I keep riding them out calmly and they keep coming. It’s extremely uncomfortable but learning not to fear them :(

You’re doing the right thing, do u take anything for anxiety?

Thanks for the reply. :) No, I don’t. At times I wish I would but I can’t ever come to actually taking them. I’ve tried three and after the bad experiences I just gave up, I feel like they make my anxiety a ton worse. But then again I know I haven’t given them enough time!

You have discovered the answer to your bad feelings and are doing somrthing about it. Bravo!

Accept the symptoms without fear, knowing they can do you no permanent harm, and you stop re-sensitising your nervous system every 5 minutes. With time your nerves recover and you regain your quiet mind. But not by teatime today☺ you must Let time pass.

Thanks for the reply :) Yes I’m trying! The bad feelings are still here with me all the time but I’d like to say I’m coming out of the darkness a bit. I enjoyed myself last night for the first time in a while, smiling and laughing. For a minute I felt the old me again. All hope is not lost!

Excellent anon99 build on that success yesterday evening and never give up.

BTW I had palpitations (missed heartbeats) yesterday due to slight stress, about one missed beat in 30, but they don't bother me, I laugh in their face, and forgot about them and feeling ignored they departed. If I had stressed about them it would have been another story.

Well done for ignoring them, that sounds like a big step forward. It's nice you could enjoy yourself last night too!

Recently my anxiety has been more OCD-like, so I worry that I've forgotten to check something, and then have to go and check it again. In the past I found that if I could resist checking something for a few days, I would stop worrying about it and could cross that ritual off the list. So far that's not working, trying not to check something just makes the anxiety worse.

I’m going through OCD too :( and same . It’s like if we don’t “check” things will certainly go wrong. I understand how you’re feeling.
