Hi Chloepitbull85, your medication may no longer be working, it happens after a while.

It would be best if you check back with your prescribing physician. Mixing alcohol and benzos can have dire side effects since they are both suppressants. There are safer

ways for your doctor to handle your anxiety and depression. We are here to support you, because we understand.

Do hang in there; I've had moments where I was bedridden for 3 weeks. The fog seemed to have lifted afterwards for me. Hope things turn out well for you.

Hey! I also found that drinking makes me feel more on edge. Or it heightens my current mood. Do you have anything that you really enjoy doing or can take your mind off? There are better days ahead. Keeping pushing because you’re about to come through strong as ever

Chloepitbull85. Sorry you are having such a hard time. Have you tried a different approach aside from medication ? Or perhaps talking to your doctor about switching you to better ones?

Go back to your doctor, please don’t drink it will just make it worse in the long run . I know how it is to want to do anything to feel better but drinking isn’t it .

I know buddy, it's gets tiring taking meds, nobody enjoys it...watch the beers, one here and there isn't bad, personally I just think drugs and booze is a bad combo for your health. Take care, wish you the best, thx for sharing.

Stop drinking while on meds. I almost died from that a few years back. Maybe alprazolam is not the right med. There are many more to try. Some act faster, some longer, some stronger. What else do you do to reduce anxiety? Exercise, yoga, therapy, art, journalling,...

I wasn't on a lot of meds, either. Benzodiazepines are designed to take the edge off. Be careful. Go see the doctor and maybe a dosage change is needed if your tolerance has increased.

Hi there. I'm new to this site but in reading your post I found myself reliving the past as I used to take xanax with alcohol. I'm surprised I'm still alive. I used to black out and all and my parents at the time were truly concerned. Mixing xanax with alcohol slows down your breathing and you could die from overdose. Please dont muc the two anymore. You're health and life comes first. Hang In there. Hope things get better for you.
