I will fight for you. I will fight to stay healthy so I can do as much good as possible. I will fight to spread love, joy, peace and happiness. But mostly I will fight to keep you going so you can realize whatever goal you need to. My word on it!

So very nice of ya! Hmmm a new goal huh? I have lately been fretting about how I’m not ready for nor know what direction I need to go in. ❤️

I will fight for myself, to find a cure for this thing that stalks me like a predatory beast. I will fight the voice that says, stay quiet, stay on the sidelines, you can’t help anyone much less yourself. I’m fighting that voice right now with these words and I hope anyone who reads this will come forward with their pain and bring it out of the shameful darkness. No shame here. We are human.

If you fight your anxiety you will lose. Fighting your anxiety is what has made it worse. You see, fighting creates tension and stress and strain. Your over sensitive nervous system doesn't need any more of that, it needs less.

If we have a problem the normal reaction is to fight it. Anxiety disorder is the exception. Fight it and you become locked into a battle you can never win.

To recover from anxiety you need to do the exact opposite. Stop the fighting. Instead accept the symptoms of anxiety for the time being. Stop obsessing about them. Stop testing every 5 minutes to see if they've gone away. You know the symptoms are anxiety so why the interest in them?

To recover you must learn to accept the symptoms and carry on as normal. I'm not suggesting you accept them permanently, just for the time being. Practice co-existing with them for the moment. Even the panic attacks. Stop giving them the importance they don't deserve.

You won't feel any better when you begin practicing Acceptance. Don't expect instant results. But the minute you start to utterly Accept your anxiety your sensitised nervous system begins to recover. You're no longer thrashing it with constant stress, strain and tension. Your nerves can rest and they begin to recover. Because you're no longer bothered that much about those chest pains, the feeling of doom, the churning stomach, the lump in the throat, the feeling of panic. You know they're just glitches in your nervous system. They're not for real, they're imposters.

The more you truly Accept them and stop stressing for them to go away, the less fear you feel. You know you now have a plan that works and your anxiety's days are numbered. You stop flooding your nervous system with fear hormones which helps it recover even further.

So I say again: stop fighting your anxiety and agree to accept it temporarily if you want to recover. You win not by the punches you give but by the punches you take.

This, then, is the method of Claire Weekes first set out over 50 years ago. It works for everyone willing to practice Acceptance with persistance. It is the only method I know that works.

There is some truth to that. I practice a neutrality of emotions. I stay on as even of a keel as possible. I try not to go way up or way down. Most of the time that works for me pretty well. So, don't do anything that will increase your anxiety. Normalcy in a controlled, calm manner makes everything better. But sometimes the word 'fight' just means try harder. There's nothing wrong with that as long as you don't overdo it.

I feel that the healthier we become, the better we are able to help others. We can draw on our experiences that helped us to overcome troubles. Even before we are even close to health, we can still help others heal with our support.

This is another beautiful post by you!

❤️ yes and helping others helps us too

I will fight - most importantly for MYSELF, because I deserve it. I will fight for all of the people, men or women, who have been abused at the hands of the person that they love to show them that we can SURVIVE. I will fight for my precious baby that is now in heaven looking down on me to never give up. I will fight for my family who have carried me through the dark & shown me the light. I will fight for all of you, because you give me a reason to keep fighting too. <3
