Hey Tamka. First off, I want to commend you for taking steps to help yourself through this difficult time. The first time I tried medication was almost 10 years ago and I had similar worries and concerns about being on them. Honestly, I don't know where I'd be right now if I hadn't started taking Paxil. I was on it for a few years and I had to up my dose a few times, but it really helped feel a lot better. Recently, I got some health news I didn't take very well, nothing real major, but my mental health took a dive. This time I tried Celexa. It took a couple of weeks for me to notice a significant change in the way I felt, but that's normal. During that time, I wasn't having the greatest luck and the meds weren't working as well, so I went up to the next dosage and things got better again for a couple of weeks. More bad luck, more stress, next dosage. I'm happy to tell you that was when things truly improved and it stuck. My story and yours are not as uncommon as you think. A lot of people here have gone through the same process. Sometimes it's a higher dose, sometimes it's trying another medication, and always it's TIME. I know it can feel like I'm asking you to move a mountain here, believe me, but give the medication time to work. Within a 2 to 4 week period you'll start to really notice a difference. If after that amount of time you still feel like you're not where you want to be, talk to your doctor about upping your dose and if that doesn't work, try something else. Please don't give up on this. A lot of us here are living proof that this stuff really helps. It's not just the meds though. I've had to make some big positive life changes. Eating well, staying hydrated, exercising, therapy, working on relationships with friends and family, finding a new hobby... These are all things I've done along with my medication to give myself the best possible chance at recovery. Maybe they can help you too. I believe in you.

I went through the same thing with not eating and being afraid to leave my house, I just want you to know that it will be okay and you'll get out again. You'll have fun like before, anxiety is a nasty ugly thing that hovers over us as well as depression, we just have to be the ones to decide to look at it and say "no more get away from me" i hope you're doing well love 💕💕
