Hugs for everyone

You got to take time for yourself even just sitting someplace quiet to relax for a few minutes to help give you some energy to keep you going

You sound so very sad, my heart goes out to you. I hope today is a better day, for you and your son. Even though you may have more stress with your son not being well either, at least you have each other.

I hope things improve. It is so hard to know what to say when someone feels depressed. I know when i was very low , people telling me that exercise would help lift my mood, go for a walk. I used to feel like screaming at them, even while knowing they were right and meant well, you have to want to hear it, that won’t happen until you are ready.

Thinking of you both.

Yeah, its hard to get started

Little steps, even to do the smallest thing can start to make you motivated to move. That is the hard bit, those first steps. I found meds helped - very slight shift in mood - after about a week felt a tiny bit better. Although i used to say to myself every day - these are not doing anything - they were but it was a small lift. I hope you are getting help.

No need to reply if you are not up to it, i do understand the wanting to do nothing but sleep.

Keep fighting, you will get there.

Hi Infogoddess!

I can empathize with you! Although I’m not working right now but volunteering, I know how it feels to work very hard. My adult son still lives with us and appears to have PTSD, social anxiety as he is almost agoraphobic, bipolar disorder and definite anger issues. He stays up all night and sleeps all day. Did I mention probable alcoholism with frequent bouts of pancreatitis? Oh well, he is seriously enabled by us, I know. He’s the youngest of 3.

You have to be a strong woman and great Mother to have raised him into adulthood. You can get through this! It would help you to take some “me time” but you probably don’t have time!! I understand that too. Do your best to arrange that even if you’re just curled up at home reading a good book or go outside somewhere as quiet and serene as possible and enjoy nature. You’re going to make it! Your difficulties make you experienced and very interesting! Sending you hugs!!

Hey Infogoddess....I know only too well how hard things are for you ...Sending big hugs...:) I am carer for my son with Aspergers for years now...I have been ill several times with severe depression/anxiety disorders and ptsd whilst trying to take care of him as best I could on my own...I was in hospital for a few days in 2014 and was assessed ....sent to see 2 clinicians who specialize in Autism/Aspergers and was finally diagnosed myself with Aspergers 6 wks later..Phew ....so you will see how I really relate to what youre going through....Can I ask what age your son is? xx

My son is 29...currently suffering severe depression and health anxiety...Has he been put on any meds? My son refuses to take them....he was being bullied still and ended up depressed also had a voluntary job but couldn't socialize well and that added to how he was feeling....Are there any organisations near you that support families with Autism? I'm in the UK and NAS help families with things their finding difficult.....I'm seeing a therapist tomorrow to hopefully get some help as I'm so exhausted with everything...I really sympathise....its not an easy situation....

I’m so sorry to hear that. Always have faith that things can only get better. Read the book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. I found that it did help me a bit, other people find it very helpful. Stay strong. Blessings. Stay strong. And remember it’s not how hard you can hit but how hard YOU get hit and keep coming back. Samson
