people think I'm different. they think I'm difficult.

from being vegan to being a open, free spritited, happy, loving woman that likes her hippie ways for sure, they make it hard for me to be me. this generation hates anything different than them.

i told one guy earlier "I'm sorry if this offends you.. but I don't believe in war. I believe in love, In peace, in unity, in equality and I love you" he told me that war will always be happening, it's never going to end. that all men should be shipped away to fight for our country and that's that. (very rude manner) he just had no hope, no sympathy. just seemed like he hated this world he lived in. I replied with a simple "we are all going to be United one day, I know it brother...) and he rolled his eyes and kept on.

I'm sure he does not care what I had to say but to tell him that was all that I needed. people like him, just need a little bit more love. spreading hate will get us no where in this universe. I may be different, dress different, look different or act differently then the people and my younger people in this society today but I am proud, I love myself, I love what I stand for, I protest, I am a activist... just bc I was born in the wrong generation doesn't mean I can't make a difference in this one.

I wont let anyone bring me down. I love you all. all I want to do is inspire! I hope I did this for you.

peace and love always my fellow hippies and friends. 💜

don't be afraid to be you!!!!

I am not trying to preach but I just wanted to share something I learned from my Christian faith. We have three virtues we are taught. Faith, hope, and love. We practice all three while we are on earth. Once we die faith is replaced with seeing God. Hope is replaced upon entering heaven. Love stays with us and is the only thing we bring with us into eternity. Not material goods or social status. Love is the only currency in heaven. Your post reminded me of this.

when I say it, most people look at me crazy. I live in the states... and sadly my president hasn't showed very good replications of what he brings to the table for us and it sometimes gives me no hope also... but even then, I still manage to knock myself out of it and remember my Golden rule...

love, compassion, faith. those three things keep me going and keep me believing. itll all be okay one day my friend 💟

Peace and love. I am quite free spirited in my views and cannot understand violence as it is so unnecessary and I have had these types of conversations with others all my life.

I am a pescatarian so I eat fish but not meat and haven't for 48 years. The reaction I get from some people is laughable such as 'What do you eat? Lettuce'? This followed by a silly giggle. Or going out to a pub or something and everything being meat and when I point out that I can't eat any of it I then get told tough it's a life choice. It's not - it's a way of life isn't it? Does someone really think I am going to say ok because I am hungry I will have a sizzling stake!

Others treat me like I have an exotic foreign diet and one friend every time we go somewhere to eat says something like - 'I don't know whether you can have anything' and cuts out any articles from papers about vegetarians and vegans and insists I read them! God give me strength! x

someone that finally understands !

my fiance is still trying to manage that I am 100% vegan so that means everything from my clothes to the toothpaste I brush my teeth with. everything.

when we shop and I ask if it's vegan friendly, she gets mad and rolls her eyes. I get very paranoid about what's in my products and food so I will ask or I will say "let me do the research first" might take just a minute but I rather be safe than sorry. she gets a bit aggry with me and doesn't understand that I refuse to use or eat anything that's ever been artificially made or has animal in it. last night we went out to Denny's and suprisngly they had one item on their menu I could eat, no dairy, no meat but it took a minute to find it...

she's a meat eater so it was very easy for her rather on my side it took me a minute. she got aggravated at me and just threw an attitude. idk about you but it throws me into a sad mood. I don't want to feel like a bother but I do want to pick what's vegan friendly for my sake... people around me get so upright and angry about my choices.. they'll ask me things to try to change my mind like "what if the world ends and you HAVE to eat meat bc you're not gonna have that fancy vegan restaurant, are you?" and I'm stumped bc I don't think they realize I'm not the only being that doesn't eat animals lol

there are animals that eat plants only lol

happily idc who gets mad, who hates me for it, who tries to change my mind.

my body and mind have been so much healthier since my diet has changed. my ethics are different. I'll never ever go back to the old lifestyle. but I will say it is hard having a partner being a meat eater. you live with them and do everything with them. they're your bestfriend. some days it's hard but I've stuck with it. always.

I'm with ya friend! you got me! we're a team!

Hey, I remember those times- great music and that is what I listen to today! No need to apologize for hoping for peace. At any rate- you might find this interesting. I think Newsweek magazine in 1968 actually coined the term "hippie."

I just saw this post now and that is awesome! It's wonderful that u show ur positivity. That is very helpful and gives hope. I feel like I was born in the wrong time too! It's funny! Thanks for sharing ur loving message. Take care
