Am assuming your stopping cold turkey and are going through withdrawals...I would recommend that you talk to a doctor about getting help with these symptoms. It could be dangerous for some doing this on their own...mind yourself...have someone check in on you if you can...

Have you ever experience this

decades ago I did quiting smoking, cocaine and alcohol....it wasn't severe by any means, but it was bad enough....I am concerned for your health, I commend you on stopping, but you should really be very careful and since your able to write here....Your sorta okay....but it's a hard task to do this alone.

I would also maybe get some of those sports drinks, the ones with electrolytes, and they are actually designed to replace what your body sweats out...just the regular drinks nothing fancy....it will help...try some soup if you can...take it easy on your stomach....especially if your taking any aspirin or ibuprofen for the pain. Hang in there friend...I promise...my life is better....because I am alive, and have a life now without drinking and using.....right there with ya...hang on..

You are brave and doing really really well. I watched my father GP through this so I know just how tough this part is. But I have also seen the good things that come from the amazing effort it takes to stay sober. Hold tight, you can do this and you everyone here supporting you. Please keep in touch if you can, my thoughts are with you 👏🏻

I know I remember like it was yesterday. We reminded my dad that he was worth the effort and so are you. You deserve not be controlled by alcohol. It's hard and you must take care of yourself, you won't feel this bad again this is the worst part. One day at a time, you are stinger than you give yourself credit for. Take care X

fauxartist in reply to tamka38

withdrawals.....that's why I was saying you might want to give your doctor a call and check that your symptoms are at a safe level....

tamka38 profile image
tamka38 in reply to fauxartist

When I read about withdrawals it doesn’t say anything about physical body pain

fauxartist profile image
fauxartist in reply to tamka38

oh yeah.....there sure is....like I was saying.....the sport drink with electrolytes is what your muscles need to work out any lactic acid build up....your pain will ease a bit. But you should still call your doctor....

So ear pain and throat hurts is withdrawals

fauxartist profile image
fauxartist in reply to tamka38

It's possible you may also have the flu along with withdrawals...again...call doctor to double check your symptoms...mine were physical pain, headaches...cravings, and a lot of anxiety, sweats couldn't sleep, sick to my stomach....everyone may be different...

Hi there.. I'm a recovering alcoholic and I can remember oh so clearly the agony your in currently. I dont know how many times i detoxed on my own. I would make an appointment with your family doctor just to make sure you are detoxing as safely as possible. 6 days! Wow that's amazing! You should be proud of yourself. I know your feeling horrible right now but please do not give up. Sobriety is beautiful and you are worth it.

I agree that it is absolutely something you should talk to your doctor about (if you're lucky enough to have a dr you like) the only times I've been able to seriously conquer sobriety cold Turkey was during pregnancy. Maybe it actually is mind over matter because I've always drawn the line with my kid's safety, but your doctor will listen, they will care, and help. Feel free to PM. Best wishes <3
