Hey Everyone!

Hey guys! So this is my first time on this amazing site. A little bit about me. I deal with anxiety and depression and I have for the past several years. Well I am slowly beginning to overcome it! So my next plan is to go back and get my masters and become a mental health therapist so I can help those who have went through what I have been going through. The reason I am on this site is to learn and to try and help others but to also see what works for different people and apply it to my life. If I can help someone in any possible way I am all ears. Just remember, you are not alone in this struggle!

I'm glad your working in this field Coreyfish....and actually it's a good place for you to work on yourself as well. There's an old saying: 'physician, heal thy self'...as we are only able to give of ourselves to others when we are healthy and happy first...having depression and anxiety for most is not something you get over as you well know....you learn to live with it. We find ways to cope with our ups and downs, and find a lifestyle that we can incorporate our issues. Social stigma to feel we have to overcome mental illness is very disheartening for those of us who are chronically stuck with our stuff. We will always have depression...it's just the way we are wired...so we do daily maintenance and get on with life. Nobody I know would want to live with depression and anxiety if they had a choice...hopefully you will pioneer a 'cure' in your lifetime of a career in this field because you've learned from us and your own experience. But most importantly..be an advocate for those that suffer the labels and disrespect society in general puts on us. You'll do well, congratulations on your ensuing degree.

Thank you so much! That is my goal to advocate for the ones who struggle and to get rid of all the negative stigmas about anxiety.
