Does anyone or everyone have a favorite book or author relating to your struggles with either anxiety or depression. I have found a good book to be more helpful to me than anything. I'm just starting, "Managing Anxiety with CBT for Dummies." Thanks everyone. My first day here and I am feeling great about being here!

H toddt2, Well I'll be darn if there isn't a book for "Managing anxiety with CBT for Dummies" I know they have books for every other subject. Thanks for sharing. I bet it's easy to read and understand. I'll have to take a look at it. :) We're glad you are a part of our support family.....

I wil let you know what I think of it Agora1! Just got done reading, "What You Must Think of Me," which I highly recommend. It's geared more towards high school kids, but I took a great deal of useful information and techniques from it.

toddt2, I couldn't resist, I ordered the Dummy book from Amazon yesterday. Will receive it Monday afternoon. Who knows, I may just find some new ideas or tools to share with others.

Hope your weekend is going well. Take care.

I think I’ll look for that “What you must think of me”! I think there’s value in many books despite the audience it might be geared for, the issues are the same and think there’s not one perfect book but lots of helpful information that’s useful for many- we all relate and have different angles to our struggles and people will find pearls of wisdom from a variety, not answers all in one. This seems like a very diverse group doing just that and I’m excited to have wandered in here with all the great suggestions! Thank you everyone for sharing and keeping it real and positive!

I haven't because i don't have many full on panic attacks, mine is just general anxiety waves throughout the day, but maybe i should try it!

Dare also sounds like a good one! Thanks Rose, I’m very happy that they have helped you so quickly! It gives me hope!! 🌹

Two of my favorites have been Hope and Help for Your Nerves by Dr. Claire Weekes and Rewire Your Anxious Brain (can’t remember the authors). The second one was pretty science heavy but I really enjoyed it!

Thanks Absolute Daisies! I will check these out. Do you also find books to be of great help?

in reply to

These two have helped me tremendously. They really took away the bewilderment that I felt about my anxiety. They have given me a whole new way to look at anxiety and it’s symptoms.

in reply to Susan512

Thank you Susan512! I was a part of a forum before and everyone there seemed to just want to complain about everything. They were very negative. I don't feel that here at all. I'm finding great comfort and help here
