Hello everyone!
I've struggled with anxiety off and on for several years, but was recently formally diagnosed and given a treatment plan. My psychiatrist prescribed Lexapro at the lowest dosage to start, with the plan that I would use it for the next several months until I'm in a more stable environment where I can stop taking anxiety meds. Ironically, I'm having anxiety about starting meds, and have yet to fill the prescription. More specifically, I've read a lot about side effects and reactions to starting (and stopping) anxiety meds that concern me, such as I won't feel emotions as much, and brain zaps occurring when I eventually stop taking the medicine (or if I forget a dose). Can anyone currently taking (or who's taken it in the past) Lexapro tell me about your experience? Does anyone have advice for someone just starting anxiety meds?
