Hi , I’m 58 and suffered from anxiety for about 8 years. Tried many meds. Gratefully I take only Xanax as needed for attacks. I do take a beta blocker to help as well. Happy to be here with you all..

Glad you found us, we are happy to have you and will help you if we can. Two very acknowledged have already written to you. I am sorry for your suffering and that the Xanax works, I hope they continue to give it to you, it is addictive I take Lorazapem which is fast acting but addictive. I wish the scientists would come up with some better med's that are few and very effective. We are here for you, so ask us any questions, we are lay people, so I often refer people to talk to their Dr. a Therapist or find a support group, all good places for us who suffer to be. Please be VERY careful with the Xanax. It is a Benzo which is incredibly addictive. I was prescribed Ativan, which is also a Benzo, almost 30 years ago and am now trying to get off of it. It is a nightmare!

Learn relaxation techniques, meditate, exercise, accupuncture, antidepressants, but please stay away from these drugs!
