You're going through a difficult time, you're not ready to die and don't want to. You have my compassion and try to figure out what is bothering you and it'll help. Please call a friend or family member and talk to someone understanding.

I know what's bothering me I just can't defeat it and I'm exhausted. I don't have family except for my kids and no friends.

in reply to Karab1978

How about the families of some of your children's friends? You already have something in common with them. You can try talking to some of your neighbors, most will be accommodating.

I don’t think your ready to go down for the dirt nap quite yet. It’s a tempestuous struggle. It’s destroyed many things in my life without question. Please speak with your Dr. Or maybe perhaps seek out a new one.

No health insurance. No doctor

Karab1978, I am si sorry you are in such pain! Hardluck has really been sweet and offered great suggestions.....but none of them seem to be helpful. Do you have any ideas of what you feel you need right now that would be helpfull?

Probably medication but without insurance I'm out of luck.

That was meant to be a joke. I’m from Ottawa, Canada. Virginia, The Carolinas, Georgia, hold a special place in my heart. I love the south and the good people there.

Have you checked into this...tnmed.org/TMA/News_and_Medi...

Also, for anxiety, have you tried magnesium and/or epsom salt soaks to help relax you? Breathing apps/exercises?

Just thoughts!

Karab1978 in reply to Pearl67

How does magnesium work for anxiety? I'm a large woman and cannot fit in a standard bathtub

Pearl67 profile image
Pearl67 in reply to Karab1978

This is from Psychology today. Google it. Magnesium is helpful to me. I burn mine up by drinking coffee and stressing 24/7! And a diet (that I really try to do right) that falls short.

Some people find some relief with an epsom salt foot bath, as it is absobed there as well!

Looks like you’re in a bit of a jam. I shouldn’t be saying this as an alcoholic in recovery (almost seven years) perhaps a drink or two might calm you down until you can get some benzodiazepines. Good luck.

I don't drink. My parents are alcoholics. Too scared to end up the same

That link in my last response was jinky!

Here is the info. Worth a look!

Use the Tennessee Drug Card to Reduce Patients’ Medication Costs

July 18, 2017

According to a recent CBS news report, “27 percent of people between ages 50 to 80 call the cost of their medications a burden and only 51 percent say they bring it up with their doctor.” For those who did bring up the cost of their medications with their doctor, 67 percent say their physician recommended a more affordable option.

TMA reminds physicians about the cost-saving Tennessee Drug Card. This is a free prescription assistance program that you and your patients can use to save on medications. The program is available to those without insurance and to those with high deductible plans or medication not covered under their health plan. The program can help save up to 75% off the retail price for brand and generic FDA-approved medications. This program is HIPAA compliant and requires no personal information to be given in order to get the discount.

Doctors or patients can print the Tennessee Drug Card for free at TennesseeDrugCard.com or request cards for their office to display by contacting Natalie Meyer at 888.987.0688 or natalie@tennesseedrugcard.com.

I looked at the link. My meds would still be $575 a month

Yikes!!!! For Panic Disorder? Woweee!

My mom and sister contacted the drug companies and talked to their pharamacist who helped them get their meds really reduced! Some free for several months. Do you qualify for assistance programs?

Karab1978 profile image
Karab1978 in reply to Pearl67

I'm supposed to be on depakote and klonopin. I don't qualify for assistance because I work but my job doesn't offer insurance. I'm still legally married so they count his income as mine even though we don't live together

Ugh! All twisty! I am sorry! I would still try to connect with a social worker who can help you navigate this!!!! (Maybe?)

So sorry.. all I can add is that my anxiety was over the top for months. I am finally starting to see some improvement. I just want to give you some hope that it can ease up.

Anti depressants didn't work for me. I don't have insurance either. I work but can't afford to keep going to the dr to try different meds. It's all just crazy expensive.

Wishing you some peace and relief.

Generic anxiety medications and anti depressants are not expensive. Since you have no insurance go to Good rx dot com. You get a coupon with the price, go to the pharmacy and pay there the reduced price. ANd you don't even have to register in their website. Make sure you select the milligrams of the medicine you want and if it is for 30, 60 or 90 days, etc. If not they'll have something selected for you. Also there is blink health dot com. There you have to register and you pay online, then take the receipt to your pharmacy and that's it. Blink health might be cheaper than goodrx but I'm not sure. Maybe it depends on the medication so check both. I also recommend going to a church, it has helped me a lot. God bless you.

There is a book that might help - 10 Simple Solutions to Panic. Also, there is a self-help toolkit at anxietybc.com. Abdominal breathing is really helpful as well. Panic disorder can be overcome....I know many people who have recovered from it. Is there a support group in your area for people with panic disorder? Or, is there a peer support cognitive behaviour program? There is one in my area, and it is very effective. The fee is very modest and if people can't afford even that, then the fee is waived. Please look into what possible resources there might be in your area. You CAN get better!!!

I know your pain I have my good days and my bad days a lot of my anxiety attacks I thought were heart attacks in the beginning because of the physical symptoms I was always having (heart pounding, dizzy, impending doom feeling, breathing difficulty) but after years of having them and talking to doctors and therapists I realize now when I have them they are just anxiety attacks but they can be very scary for sure if you don't know what it is in the beginning. I hate taking RX meds too so it's a double edge sword, I feel like I trade one problem for another when I take the pills the doctors give me and all the side effects that come with them. To be honest I have been using medical marijuana for the last few years and I feel it really helps me and doesn't have near as many bad side effects. I know it might sound crazy but look into it and try a sativa strain it really helps with mood, anxiety and depression. But use a low does if you never tried it before

I sincerely hope you can get some financial help with your meds. It seems tragic to me that lack of funds is stopping you from getting well.

I saw a hypnotherapist many years ago who gave me a few tips to help with my depression (& also for anxiety attacks) and this one really helped me back then. Sipping a glass of water and concentrating on breathing, I would close my eyes and take myself into a special place in my mind eg a beautiful garden. Walk slowly through the garden imagining the smell of the flowers and the colours of the blooms, the trees and shrubs and the feeling of relaxation from the water feature and continue to progress through this garden ...... focus on a happy time and relive that happy experience.

I hadnt had bad anxiety attacks until this year and I'd had no idea how frightening it was. Id seen someone having one at a funeral some years ago and just didn't have a clue how she must've been suffering!

I sincerely hope things improve for you and wish you better.
