Overthinking...

Hey,I'm 18 years old & i suffer from panic attack. It all started when i was in grade 9,it's killiing me where the bad thoughts conquer me .. thoughts that i'm having a heart attack or i'm dying or that i have a heart problem... My Dr. said that i should do a soul-mins-body connection but i don't know how to start when the constant feeling of heaviness and pressure on my chest is found .Also i became more sensitive (crying a lot & self-doubt.)Furthermore, a new fear just popped up which is being in public places or transportations for i can sit more than a minute in a car... I also have a fear of heights and this is stopping me from flying back to the US to continue my education.. I feel old & mentally ill .. I want it to end ...

Welcome to the Forum Rafi! Definitely what Goldie11 said, stay away from Dr. Google I can almost assure you that it will only make matters a lot worse. Been there and done that in the past 10 years of my anxiety and panic journey.

Over the past year I have developed a similar fear of public places and transportation. My doctor labeled it as agoraphobia. In order to help reduce the anxiety and panic attacks when doing these things he recommended using graduated exposure, so that you don't feel overwhelmed trying to tackle the issues all at once.

How about fear of planes, wht to do!?😅

I have only ever been one a plane once, so not much experience. But is the fear getting on the plane or the flight itself?

Honestly its the fear of being on a plane for long hours and have no where to go or relax when the panic attack "hits" & the idea of "floating" in the sky !!! I am afraid of heights

I understand I felt like that before my flight. My doctor helped me create something called a PR plan, it's used if I know I will have a panic attack and what things I can do to cope. Some of my coping strategies were mindful thinking by telling myself I will be okay, using an app for anxiety and panic to relax, bringing distractions and knowing I have my safety medicine if the panic is too much. I also flew with a family member to make me feel comfortable, they would reassure me that flying is more safe than actual driving. As for of heights it took a lot of graduated exposure for me to get over my fear. You could do the same for your fear too.
