Feeling so awful today

Hi Everyone.

Richard here I would like to share to this forum about my feelings today. I feel so horrible, i cannot specifically identify what triggered my being anxious. I think I am having withdrawal from Clonazepam since its been already 2 days that I wasnt taking it. For the last 2 months I was taking .5Mg per day but recently it began to lose effectiveness and when my anxiety is unbearable I take 1Mg but i dont take it regularly like when im having an intolerable feeling then I take 1mg otherwise I dont take it. Does anyone here experience the same as I do and what did you do to feel good.

I am also taking Mirtazapine and Quetiapine for my sleep problem.

Thanks in advance

Yes, you can be experiencing withdrawal from clonazepam. If you stick it out you should feel better soon. If it becomes unbearable maybe try "tapering" the medicine gradually over a period of a few weeks, cutting your dosage by maybe .125 every week. I have been taking this drug for many years and trying to taper for over almost two years now--have only been able to reduce my dosage in half to .5 down from 1 mg--it is a nightmare. I also am on mirtazapine as well which does help with the sleep. I would say that if you can find a way to taper the clonazepam, that would be great because, as you already noticed, you can build a tolerance quickly.

Thanks for your reply. I only have 5 tablets of 2mg. each is divided into 4 which i take 1/4 every other day. Do you think I will still withdraw when all these broken pieces are consumed? I cannot buy unless I go to my psyc and get another prescription.

Hopefully you will do okay. generally when tapering meds it is best to get the lowest dosage and then try to make those pieces smaller. (for example, if you had .5mg, you could then do that in quarters and the dosage would be much less). Good luck!
