I'm a 48 man and has been bothered by a strange issue in the past 28 years. Basically something can suddenly catches my attention and I would have trouble to let it go, just keep on thinking or checking it. It can be anything, a letter, word, shape, color, or a physical object. Being distracted by those things prevents me from focus on the work I need to do, and this causes anxiety and depression. My situation is getting extremely worse recently. Does anyone know what kind of problems I have, or know someone who may be able to figure it out and help me? Any information is really appreciated.

Sounds like an offshoot of anxiety to me. I experience vigilance and it flares up my anxiety. It's kinda a rollercoaster.. anxiety makes us vigilant and the feeling of vigalence gives us more anxiety. It's not a fun process but I think the fact that this situation frustrates you is why it's still dragging on. You've gotta let it go and not judge yourself when it happens. I know it seems bizzarre but it's just a part of anxiety and the longer you try and change it or figure it out- the longer it'll last. So just accept it! That's my advice. Hope it's helpful for you.
I would talk to the people who know you best. I would also talk to a professional
