My life today...

I am a 42-year-old mother and wife. My teenaged daughter, who is my whole world, moved out last summer. I am in the process of finishing my bachelor's degree online and looking for a job. I have had depression, anxiety, and panic attacks since I was diagnosed with celiac 12 years ago, and recently my panic attacks and anxiety have increased dramatically. I really don't know why. I take medication regularly and see a psychiatrist and a counselor. I walk around feeling like I have a ball of lead on my stomach. I don't know what to do. I would like to try hypnotherapy, but I cannot afford it. Help!

Hi! I totally understand how stressful chronic health conditions can be. I suffer from chronic pelvic pain and realize it stems a lot of my anxiety.

Does your counselor specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy? I recommend this because they give strategies to help with stress inducing thoughts.

Also, what medication do you take?

Could the mood possibly be hormonal?

I'm 25 and personally have benefitted from birth control as hormone regulation
