Can't find a psychiatrist

I desperately need to find a psychiatrist in Chicago!!! I can't find a Doctor who takes my insurance or takes new patients. I am so stressed what to do! Does anyone have ideas I will be needing my medications soon and my new insurance is worthless!

Well I would ask your primary doctor to fill your scripts while you find a psych. Show him/her your scripts and explain that you will be out soon while finding a new doctor. Most will accommodate that short term.

Otherwise i would be calling every single psych in chicago and then call them again and tell them you cant find one who will accept a new patient and to please allow you in. Be desperate enough to beg to be seen!!!

Possibly there's a Dr. on the website Psychology Today. Often the listings include what insurance the Drs. will accept. You can also check reviews online through a system like healthgrades.com or similar.
