Seeing doctor?

So I went to get a blood test a few weeks ago and my electrolytes were way off. Had my potassium been any lower I would have been sent to the ER. My GP gave me a prescribed dose of oral potassium( higher than over the counter potassium tablets) and instructed me to stop vomiting and to limit water to 34 oz a day. I did my best but I still ended up purging several times before my next blood test. I also did drink more than the 34 oz. one part of my OCD is peeing clear because I’m afraid of dehydration so it gives me too much anxiety to try not to drink water. Anyway the next week my lab tests came back slightly improved but she has instructed me to stop vomiting and reduce water to 16 oz a day, and do follow up with my university health center. I’m afraid to continue because I can’t follow the recommendations. I’m trying to recover but that’s a really big ask, I’ve already dramatically reduced my b/p, have stoped fasting and am drinking more electrolytes. I’m afraid that if I get treatment through my school that they can keep me from taking classes (I’m in a dance program)

Its vital you are regularly checked - your electrolyte balance is so important to your health - I know the struggle you are having - but avoiding getting checked could lead to you having serious health problems if not ending up in hospital. It sounds like you need to seek help for the ED - so ask your GP if you can access some counselling - or give anorexia & bulimia care a ring - but whatever you do - don't stop getting the medical help you desperately need.

just spent a week in hospital for the third time in 3 months, my potassium went down to 2.9 I was watched 24.7. in the toilets , showers, bed. some of the nurses were sarcastic and cruel. I've just got out. freedom, trying my best, that is all I can do.
