I want to be anorexic. I didn't eat all day yesterday and nearly all day today until i just ate chocolate and binged. Is this bulimia or anorexia?

Anorexia is making life miserable it's not something to be wanted, trust me 😊 if you feel you need help with your eating behaviour I advise you speak to your GP because they can help you and give you support 😊

Anorexia isn't a path I would have chose for myself I'm always so miserable from it I'm not the same person I used to be Iv changed and not for the better please seek help from your doctor asap once it gets its grip on you it's hard to know the difference of what's what's healthy and not I hope this makes sense

Butterfly, may I ask why you would want to suffer from an illness? Anorexia has the highest death rate of all psychiatric illnesses. I don't wish to scare you but all eating disorders can dominate a persons life with the result being all consuming and very debilitating.

May I suggest you look at nhs.uk/Livewell/healthy-eat... which can give you lots of information about providing your body with the nutrition it needs. If you consider your body is like a finely tuned car, once you start messing with your metabolism (your engine) your use of calories (fuel) wouldn't function as efficiently which may have consequences (not just weight loss but weight gain, causing more restriction).

I hope you don't think this is a very boring answer, people don't like being told what NOT to do - it make us want to rebel and do it all the more. I hope this isn't your reaction.

Best wishes

I don't think it is helpful to label yourself with an ED as this might feel like an achievement at first. I would speak to to your GP if you are concerned about your eating habits as it may not seem a like a big deal at first but it is easy to become obsessed as I have learnt from experience. Even just speak to a close friend who you trust. I hope this helps :)

I think if you can say you want to be anorexic then clearly you are not. I don't think there is one of us in here that chose this path. IT chose us and before we realized it we were in the throws of a nasty controlling disorder that I would gladly wrap up in a bow and give away. but it is like gum on your shoe. I am not suggesting that there isn't something off in your thought process but in my 35 yrs of dealing with this disorder I have never spoken to anyone who said I want to be just like you. please seek help and find out the under lying cause of your thought process. it sounds like you might be looking to engage in self destructive behavior which is all together another type of disorder that needs just as much support as this one.
