My partner has BPD and anorexia (binge-purge). She is 25 years old, 5 foot 1 inches tall and currently weighs 5 stone, but is losing weight at an alarming rate. The doctors are slow on responding and we can't afford to pay for immediate help. I have tried everything I can think of to help her but it all seems to just make her situation worse. We're even looking at clinical trials as a last resort. It's a very complicated situation and I can't explain all the complications that go with it here. She's on a waiting list for DBT for her BPD but the waiting list is very long and she really isn't well at all. It's her decline in mass that is more serious at the moment. Some advice/help on this matter would be much appreciated.

I'm sorry to say my experience with getting help with my ED follow a similar pattern - but given the low weight and increased deterioration I would suggest you go back to your GP to try and get an immediate emergency appointment at least with the mental health team - I really had to push to get any support - so good luck - as this weeks is mental health week perhaps this will help - you could I guess even contact the BBC as they are running a series and want to know of people struggling to get help with mental health issues - good luck to both of you.
