But no-one cares anyway...

So I'm 13, almost 14, and I have quite a lot of disorders/difficulties. My friends don't really understand, and I'm still amazed I have friends. I was bullied very badly in primary school, which has led to depression and anxiety for me now. (I also have dyslexia, which my computer is fixing for me, ADHD and biplor disorder). However, during the last 6 months, I've been struggling to eat, obsessing about exercise and healthy eating, and its been very difficult. I'm 5'4'' and I'm 6.4 stone right now. That just feels so overweight and FAT for me. No one has noticed. Not my counsellors/therapists, parents or friends. It just grows my depression because I feel like no one cares... What can I do now?

Hi Survivor!! You Are Surrounded by people who care :) family, friends, medical professionals. Please go to your Dr/GP about your concerns with your weight, tell him/her what you consider healthy, and listen to their response. Is it possible to talk to your parents???? Every single human on the planetfeels "not quite right" at your age, blame hormones, we go from being little people then without warning we are all thrust into the never ending journey of becoming an adult, our bodies change whether we like it or not. It can be the most joyous ride and soo depressing all at once, like a roller coaster ride. Hey young person you CAN do this ♥

Hi just-hide. My heart goes out to you. The hard truth is that adding an eating disorder to your other challenges in life will just make things worse (much worse ). You are right to want to eat in a healthy way but that is different than losing weight is not healthy when you are not overweight. Could you tell one of your counsellors or your doctor or contact B-eat?

I'm glad you have friends. They may not understand what you are going through but please try to keep up your social relationships with them.

What is your relationships with your parents or grad-parents or brothers/sisters like? Are you able to share your feelings and fears with one of them as well as the professionals you are seeing?

As I said my heart goes out to you and I will pray for you

Hello JH...I am sure many people care. Tell someone you trust who you think can help. An eating disorder can be dangerous and very time consuming for you and your family to deal with. There are people who can help if you seek them out. My daughter is a recovering anorexic. Www.tomagcro.com

Hi there,

Please do not think no one cares. Always believe in yourself. Do not worry about those who bullied you. I am now 48 years old, and when i looked back, i was bullied when i was in High School by my classmates (back in the Philippines), and i always cry then. But, i graduated with honors. The reason they bullied you, is because they are jealous of you. They see something great in you that they don't have. So, do not feel bad, and do not depend your joy and happiness in life on how people treat you. Be strong! You are a lovely kid! By the way, is there any close church near you? Is there anyway you can join a youth church where they encourage your faith to believe in God. Putting your trust in Him will definitely make you stronger, lesser worries and you will always believe that there is One up there who really loves you unconditionally! about gaining weight, walk few minutes a day, along with good friends, and if ever you find a church you can hang out, you can walk with them. Also, open up your problems with your parents. They will always help you. I hope the best for you! God cares for you and loves you! Take care!
