I been diagnosed with anorexia since 6 years ago, I am 33 and my BMI is 16.
But now I am starting to use laxatives also…… and I really don't want to do it, but i cannot stop. Does any body feel like me? Any advice?

Hi hermosa I know going down the GP route will be scary for you, you really need to start there. Congrats for admitting to yourself - this is not ok! You took a big step posting on here, you can do this. Julie xo
Hi, I don't have any advice sorry but I can relate. I don't know why I abuse laxatives so much, I try to stop but I never do. I am a similar age but without a diagnosis and a higher BMI of 18.5. I hope you manage to find a way to get the help and support that you need.
My advice for you is to see your gp to get referred to see a counsellor
Hi Hermosa, I totally agree with the invaluable advise of the others who replied to you! Please seek help NOW, we think we are invincible, sadly we are not! Anorexia is not something you can be complacent with.
In my humble opinion it is far better to go & seek help via your GP & ask for a Referral to "Specialised Eating Disorder Professional", sooner, rather than later, before it becomes even more out of control!
Well done on joining this site, you have made a very brave first step into Recovery! Also Welcome to this wonderful, helpful Site
Sending you positive healing vibes
Good Luck

Thank you very much for your advices, you makes me stronger
Really support advice below - BMI 16 is low - and any reduction in weight is going to be serious - on top, laxatives can cause serious health issues. Do see your GP - and seek to find an ED professional - you need to get this sorted quickly - and doing it alone is usually not possible - so please do get help. Good luck.
