Please think very carefully before you give up your ed...it us a very powerful tool at protecting you. ..someone said to me once if you recover you move on you wouldn't look back or want to use your experience to help others. ..I get that now...the bubble is safe

The bubble might be safe - but you need to look at why you need to remain within it. Living in the bubble is extremely costly - your health - both mental and physical suffers tremendously - and you are not "free" - you are trapped in a life controlled by the ED. If you were in prison - received a pardon - and could walk free - would you stay in the dark cell with no freedom - or would you walk into the sunshine? Walking away from an ED is not easy - but the price of living with it is enormous - and once you are free - you can use your experience as both a sufferer and someone who has recovered to both support and give hope to others.

Change is always difficult and challenging. It may seem safe to stay in the ED-bubble but it comes at a price: social, emotional, mental and physical. It is worth looking ahead and come up with "treats" to reward the steps to recovery.

Life is for living. Life is rarely easy though. If you are using your ED to distract from another mental health issue then please talk to your doctor and ED team or someone from one of the helplines.

Recovery doesn't seem different to ed though at least the ed feels self inflicted. Giving up sorry x
