Guys, I have a question - which of you tested for vitamin D? What are your indicators? There is information that this vitamin is not absorbed in people with ALD, and if you take high doses, it can be dangerous.
Vitamin D and ALD: Guys, I have a question... - AMN EASIER
Please provide evidence. I only know of it with ALS thanks
Oops a whole family???
Yes, two women - a mother and a daughter, a son with AMN, and three boys.
I am not disbelieving you. I am simply amazed that all those mentioned have symptomatic ALD
I have a deficiency. AMN and Addisons, age 62. My doctor tested me for it. As I recall it can be low when you don't get enough sunlight. The benefit stated was bone density maintenance. I take 1 a day, 2,000 IU. Don't think this is an unusually high dose.
I also was Vitamin D deficient despite getting plenty of sun since I live in Texas. I take 2500IU a day with no ill effects for the last 6 years. It has helped my mood and that has all I have noticed.
I too, have a vitD deficiency. As well as VitB Complex.
I take 5000 to 10,000 international units per day. That is not even a high dose. 1000 is what an infant requires.
I've been taking 50,000 iu once monthly, then at least 1,000 iu daily. With this my Vit D levels are within the normal range.
