Has anyone tried the Turbo Med Afo. Having spoken to a local neuro physio he recommends it but it isn't cheap.

He has also recommended the Cubbi elliptical exerciser. (Available from Argos in the UK)

Hello! I had ordered the Cubbi elliptical under desk machine. It is a nice machine but I’ve found I can’t use it from my manual wheelchair. It tracks your progress and has a nice display for time and tension. I’ll be trying it with my power chair once the holidays here are over (too busy at work - come home exhausted). What little I have done with it makes it seem like a good machine to use.

Good luck!

Thanks JoAnn. It is a shame you can't use it at the moment is that because it is too big to use with your wheelchair

With the manual chair, yes. I'm closer to the ground and can't get the right angle for it to move easily. My power chair is higher ... will try that after the holidays!

I’ve got the turbomed. If you don’t have collapsed arches or ankle spasticity they are great!

I have custom built orthos now. They can do some great things with carbon fiber. Turbomed served its purpose till they couldn’t.

I use FES but he thought turbomed could help as well. He saw the orthos that the hospital had built for me!! And recommended the turbomed instead. Do your orthos go around the outside of your shoes?

Turbomed is on the outside. I still use one for the foot that is not as loose and the arch hasn’t collapsed. My custom ortho on my left leg goes inside my shoe.
