So, apparently, anorexia has a link to genes linked to metabolism.

I haven't had much of an appetite since my disease hit, and I'm eating less and less. Hardly anorexic though. How about you lot?

Hopefully, more diseases having genetic components, more common diseases, profitable diseases, will spur more research, maybe we can piggyback a cure.

Interesting article, I wasn't well informed on Anorexia and the genetic link. Since I've been on the MIN-102 trial I feel as if my appetite heightened and I eat everything in sight haha Before I ate like a rabbit!

I recall Keith Van Haren at Stanford commenting that all the AMN patients he'd seen were of a slimmer build - not overweight. Hmmm, I weighed myself the other day and I was at 150 lbs, standing at 5'10" which is where I want to be. I have been eating even more vegetables and laid off the sugary snacks until I went to Whole Foods yesterday and bought some gourmet cookies. An extra lb. never tasted so good!

We pretty much the same height/weight. Frankly, I couldn't get any thinner. Don't eat much meat these days is the key. Hard to be overweight on veggies.

Factor in the Modafinil, though. Completely kills my appetite. Then again, some people gain a lot of weight on Gabapentin.

I literally have to force myself to eat enough calories every single day. I drink a high calorie smoothie of cashew butter, whole milk, and a banana every morning, in spite of having no appetite for it. I've always been skinny - getting on corticosteroids helped me put on some healthy weight, but I'm still 5'9" and hover between 140-150 lbs (closer to 140 these days).

It's true - I've never heard of an overweight man with AMN. I think the Addison's has something to do with it, too.
