This is very interesting. I know a lot of us supplement homones, but have a good read of this.

So..this letter is dated 2003. I took part in the KKI adult Lorenzo's Oil study from 2009 to 2011. They knew I was taking 7.5mg of Prednisone daily for Addison's symptoms, but no one ever mentioned anything about taking more to help with AMN symptoms. Does anybody else have any info on this?

The man presented had Addison's disease and the steroids prescribed are for hormonal replacement therapy. I take 5 mg of prednisone daily. This man's dosage was 40 mg or 160 mg of hydrocortisone!!! Why was he prescribed such an alarming dosage to begin with? My understanding is that excessive steroid use leads to osteoporosis (which I was recently diagnosed in the spine), cataracts, Cushing's Disease,....

"After six months of oral prednisone, 20 mg twice daily, the patient had significant improvement in his leg stiffness and gait"

What is the standard dose (if any) that people take for adrenal insufficiency?

Is 20mg X2 a lot?

I wonder why doctors proscribe some patients with Prednisone and some with Hydrocortisone(I take this). My family doctor said that I don't want to take Prednisone because it "messes up the body". My mother took it for a long time before she passed away and my older brother also takes it. I've been taking the same 10mg of Hydrocortisone for most of my life and aside from my legs not working as well as they used to I have had zero changes to my body appearance or performance. My brother and mom had dramatic changes, especially in their appearance. I'm not sure if that is related to their steroid usage, just something I noticed. Any thoughts?

I am seriously considering trying some Prednisone.

But read the Wikipedia page, the side effects.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Predn...

Having second thoughts now.
