I am also taking baclofen but I have only been taking 20-25 mg per day for more than a year. From what I've read on forums, it is recommended to taper off gradually however you have not been taking it for very long. I would think it would be safer to taper off over a longer period in gradually lower dosages. Perhaps someone else has more insight?

thanks for your reply Julia.it is mid afternoon and i feel fine so far early days yet.but hopefully because it was only two weeks will make it bearable.the w/d sound a bit much for such an apparent save drug

You don't mention any discussion you may or may not have had with the doctor who prescribed Baclofen in the first place. They will have an opinion and it's worth asking them first what they think. You don't also say why you are discontinuing Baclofen after such a short time?

I agre that you should have a discussion with the doctor who prescribed it before taking yourself off. If your doctor is not helpful then tell him?her you feel they are not helpful and advocate for yourself. If you feel you can't enlist someone to help you convey your thoughts to the doctor. 2 days on a medication is not enough time to decide if it will be beneficial to you. I went without for years and finally took it and it has made a huge positive difference for me. I would hate for you to miss out on an improvement in your quality of life.

Coming off Baclofen was the best thing I ever did.

I took 50mg every day for a year. I'll be honest, I enjoyed the effects. Very relaxing. It helped my foot-drop a lot.

I just knew I couldn't go the next 30-40 years like that.

I just stopped, no taper. No withdrawal symptoms.

I still take Baclofen occasionally, if I am out of the house and I have run out of 4-AP. I always carry some with me.
