I first became aware that I was not walking as well as friends at around 37/38. We all meet at climbing /walking club as teenagers/twenty. I went to Drs, at 40 to say that on 3rd mountain of the day I was unable to walk without a long rest. I felt well & could not understand why only I was haveing troudle.

Now at 62 looking back my first fall aged around 3. Friends commented how I always had at least 1 fall per walk.

I'm 34 now and my symptoms started to become unignorable last year. Like Daphne, looking back I used to have a lot of difficulties with pain when walking as a child but everyone thought I was just being a moany kid!!

I first really noticed AMN symptoms in my early 40's. I had an extremely stresssful work situation when I was 44 which drew out significant symptoms - which led to testing. From a history standpoint, I began symptoms (falling) when I was about 32.

For quite some years but it down to having a bad car at the age of 15 whereby both my legs were broken very badly in several places, so have suffered ever since. It was only after partial knee replacement that things became so bad I finally ended up at the Neurologist who then diagnosed AMN. My weak bladder I always put down to the fact I had three children! Now I feel like I have permanantley drank a large glass of wine! I now trip and fall quite often through lack of good balance.
