Thank you for sharing your story. That is very sad to hear. Forteo is one of a class of medicines called Parathyroid Hormone Analogs (the other big one is Tymlos). They basically mimic parathyroid hormone, which stimulates bone growth and can decrease fracture risk. They are usually reserved for people who have severe osteoporosis and/or have already broken bones. Increased calcium in the blood is listed as a side effect of Forteo.

Yes, I understand that. Same difference, though: In both cases, increased PTH leads to increased calcium in the blood.
