Hello Evylee. It's a huge shock and overwhelming when first diagnosed, isn't it? Take your time, there's no urgent need to rush into anything as bones don't change in a hurry, but take a few simple precautions like avoiding bending forwards and falling over! Balance exercises are great for reducing the risk of falling. There's lots of helpful advice, tips and exercises on saveourbones.com/, you don't have to pay anything to access this (although they do have a paid-for exercise programme which they promote, just ignore that) - if you sign up to emails, they'll send you lots of good ideas on diet and exercise. When you're ready, and if you're able, do weight-bearing exercise. There's lots more you can do, but hopefully this will give you a good starting point.

Thank you so much for the info and it's a big shock. I also have arthritis and my back and hip is killing me. My Dr now wants me to go to a pain management Dr also. I'm so confused don't know what to do.

Sorry you're in so much pain Evylee. What led to the osteoporosis diagnosis? Have you had a fragility fracture? Do you know your t-scores?

Please research heavily before you let the doctor talk you into taking any of the awful bone meds. They are horrible and will cause fractures...they do not build strong bones, but very weak ones....and your dentist won't do any invasive dental work if you're on them, due to a risk of jaw fracture...they're terrible and I believe they should all be taken off the market. Try hormone replacement therapy instead...that builds strong bones.
