Make a Tool for Dementia - Looking for Help

Hi Everyone,

Last year I lost my grandmother after years of her struggling with dementia and I wish I could hear her stories again.

I really care about this topic and I'm trying to create something meaningful for families going through this tough journey.

I'm a young tech entrepreneur part of the London Techstars 2021 cohort and I am working on an app that could hopefully help stimulate people's memory in an interactive way.

I'm looking for someone willing to have a chat with me and share their experience.

Hopefully, I can make something meaningful for you and your loved ones.

If you like the idea I'll give you early access to the product for free (I'm not trying to sell anything I just want to have a conversation to validate my ideas😊).

I look forward to hearing from you. Please message me if you are free for a chat 🙏

All by best,

F.

Hi Fred546, I’ve only recently joined this group (though have been using the site for some years for a different condition) and I look after mum who has recently been diagnosed. I think anything that could help them or their loved ones would be great

In terms of my mum (and this may be commonplace ) by the time we recognised her problems, it was too late to teach her anything new, and she’s rapidly losing the ability to use things ‘of old’. There was (and still is) a reluctance to accept there is a problem

This may not be such a problem in years to come where sufferers would be long-term tech users, but anything you have in mind would need to consider ease of use & access for the patient & family

I’d happily chat re my experience if it would help with your ideas though
