I am new to this site. I am 85 years old and have little or no short term memory. I would have trouble telling you what I had for supper. My Memory loss doesn't fit the definition for Alzheimer's but seems to have resulted from a litetime of severe Migraine headaches. There is complete loss of short term memory but none of the other symptoms I am reading about in Alzheimers articles.

The Medical people I have seen have diagnosed it as Alzheimers but I have no other symptoms besides the short term memory loss and what I have does not seem to be progressing. It seems to be pretty much the same as it was when the Migraines stopped when I was in my 50's. It has been the same now for about 30 years. I was an avid reaader all my life but I can't enjoy reading any more because I forget what happend a few pages ago.

I am 85 years old now. It doesn't seem to be getting any worse. It has been the same for about 30 years. I live in a Retirement Home and am able to get to know people after they tell me their names and some info (often more than once). People are pretty understanding.

Hi KP (Ms)

So glad you are with understanding folks. I am wondering if you might have had a bump on the head which started the migraines years ago. Probably a silly question. l find writing notes to myself about the day & jotting down names helps me. However reading my scribbles is a challenge. G ranni B
