Nude wig base - can I darken it?

I have hair loss caused by illness and treatment and have worn wigs for about 4 years now. I still have some of my own hair underneath, which is dark. This is visible in the nape of my neck and around my ear - mostly hidden under the wig or blends into the wig hair. However, my newest wig (Amber) has a nude wig base - so it stands out as a line between my natural dark roots and the dark hair of the wig when I wear my wig hair up. Has anyone ever dyed or stained a human hair wig base? And if so, any advise on what products to use or how to do it?

I have the exact same wig and was wondering the same. I've sprayed the base with one of those root, touch up sprays to give it a darker look but I'm not confident in how it looks.

I've been debating about cutting hair from an older wig and sewing it along there but since my wig is new I don't want to risk ruining it.

Let me know if you come up with anything. I'd love to be able to tie up my hair.
