PEG free med for acid indigestion

Any suggestions for over the counter acid indigestion medication without Polyethylene Glycol ?

I take Tums and have had no problems finding antacids without glycols. Please read labels though, because you never know what’s really in it unless you check.

Hi Walli,

I have found some sinus meds without glycols, but most do use some sort of glycol to make them effective. Same with cold and flu meds - I've never found a cold medicine without a glycol of some sort. Glycols have a purpose - they help some types of drugs to cross the blood-brain barrier. Here's a link to a fun illustration:

The answer to your question about OVC sinus meds is something you will have to research.

Goody's and BC powders make sinus formulas. They can be a little harder to find, but thus far there are no glycols. I grant you it tastes horrible, but it beats having allergic reactions!

Well Tums have PEG and don't ask me how i know and it wasn't petty. I use the name brand equate from wal-mart which don't have PEG

Thanks for weighing in!

This precisely why I don't do a lot of product recommendations: I'm sitting here with a bottle of Tums on my desk and there is no PEG in this bottle. But I have no doubt yours contains PEG if it says so, and there's nothing wrong with that from the manufacturer's standpoint. Because PEG is not the active ingredient, they can freely add or subtract anything and it's considered the same product.

I use a half tsp of baking soda dissolved in a cup of water to deal with acid stomach.
