I have undergone so many blood tests over the last few years. My GP tried really hard to get to the bottom of what was wrong. Xrays, scans, MRI - you name it. Even went to a neurologist who made me feel like a fake and said there was absolutely nothing wrong - well there wasn't as far as the nerve endings go!

Also had referals to pain clinic for chronic back and neck pain. The classes helped but the decision was that my brain was sending overly reactive pain signals that were causing me to have muscle spasms. There was nothing physicl they could find so I was taught relaxation techniques and offered exercise classes. The tiredness was put down to depression and I was given antidepressants which I refused to take because I did not feel 'depressed' just 'exhausted'

I have finally been given a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia after a new GP sent me to see a Rheumatologist because of a slightly raised blood result. The Rheumatologist said I don't have Rheumatoid Arthritis (which I knew anyway). A lot of my symptoms - such as weakness and not being able to open jars etc, fatigue, swelling, joint pain - are very similar but he diagnosed the FM.
