Nebivolol

Anyone any feedback on this for AFib? I’ve just been prescribed it as I couldn’t tolerate Bisopropol. Under warnings/precautions it is citing it may hide high heart rate as in tachycardia and Thyroid (presumably hyperthyroid patients). Tablets are 2.5 mg and I have to take half a tablet daily.

I prefer it. I didn't like Bisoprolol. I take the 2.5. It doesn't hold my heart rate down as much as Bisoprolol did, but I feel better. My resting HR is in the 90's, I'm in persistent AF, so I'm OK with that.

I take 1.25mg evenings but from time to time I have to stop as my BP drops below 110/65 and I start getting presyncope.

I was on 10mg of Bisoprolol and have been changed to 5mg of Nebivolol. I've found I tolerate it it much better. I don't have a thyroid and have been on Levothyroxine for 36 years. You are on a very low dosage so I wouldn't worry, don't forget the PSL always states any and every adverse effect, many of us are on multiple meds for our heart issues and the PSL's can give you the Heebie jeebies!

So far so good! TBH I didn't even think about it as I was dreadfully breathless and lethargic on Bisoprolol and was just so glad to get off it! Good luck x

I find Nebivolol much easier to tolerate than Bisoprolol. I find it does not do as good a job as Bisoprolol to reduce heart rate when having an afib attack but for everyday use I find it better. I get attacks about 6 times a year at the moment.

Many thanks for very helpful feedback. I’m in AFib constantly since diagnosed about 2 months ago so any easing of symptoms is welcome

Thanks for this. I haven’t had an adverse reaction which is good but my AFib remains significant and continuous. I may need an increased dose…

I was switched to Nebivolol 7.5mg ( 1& 1/2 tablets) for the same reason apart from it giving sleep problems
