Back in AF after ablation

It's a post I didn't want to write! But I get great comfort reading others here so it's best I share too.

I had an ablation in July 2020. Been a success apart from one tachycardia ep coming off the meds.

Last night, I was feeling light headed at the gym doing deadlifts with a PT (thought nothing of it, other than strenuous exercise). Then today late afternoon at work I got up from my desk and felt lightheadedness, dizzy and some tingles. Again , I didn't think too much of it other than due to a lack of sleep this week.

I arrived home, did a Kardia test and see that AF is back! I have had one flecanide and metropolol, performed breathing exercises and will try and sleep it off. I will see how it goes overnight and contact my cardio tomorrow.

Fingers crossed it's only a blip!

Hope you are better now. Possibly too much exercise while tired already? It’s possible you might need a quick touch up if there has been a gap developing in the scar tissue made by the ablation. A quick procedure I think

Appreciate your thoughtful responses - yes it sounds like I've hit the gym too hard combined with a lack of rest and thinking the ablation was a cure. I'm back in NSR after 2 days and a visit to the GP, who said the AF was well-organised - so I guess that's a positive. I upped my metoprolol to 2 tablets to get it to click back in. I'll be resting up this weekend and will have a discussion with the cardio next week. Hopefully a blip or something that can be corrected.
