I am more than 7 years post ablation. Over the past two weeks I have noticed a lot of irregular beats. Kardia says unclassified so sent for analysis. Results show multiple ventricular ectopic and trigeminy. That was last week. Am now getting AF results but with slow HB. Previous AF was always fast. Feels like it’s there a lot of the time but not as symptomatic as 7 years ago.

I was living in UK when I had ablation but have recently retired to Ireland so not very familiar with doctors or system.

I will contact my doctor here but and advice/insight appreciated.

Have been having stomach problems recently- bloating, discomfort and think related.

What a bummer!! Sometimes digestive issues can trigger AF. Quite a lot of us have found this. Look into those - acid reflux or hiatus hernia might be culprits.

Thanks. Have been battling stomach issues for many years so definitely believe all related.

Sometimes AF can cause bloating . When I had my episode was blown up never felt anything like it. So sorry this had returned for you . Stress doesn’t help either and moving home and country, even if very much wanted is still stressful

Thank you. I didn’t really “relocate” just moving between both countries since 2014. Was here in February last year and decided better to stay as lockdown much easier in rural area than in London. Decision impacts on lots of things including healthcare. Don’t really feel stressed but stomach issues interfering with sleep etc. Appreciate reply.

So sorry to hear that. You got a decent run at 7 years free, mine lasted 3. I know there is a very good hospital in Dublin with an excellent reputation - think it’s the Mater?

The health system is very different and mostly private apart from very basic emergency care as far as I can see. My husband is Irish and a lot of the family live there so I always take out medical insurance when we visit as there are so many things that can go wrong very quickly for me.

It’s really hard to know if stomach upset causes AF or vice versa but worth investigating.

I always had fast AF but in the latter years, often was slow.

Thank you for reply. Under EU regulations I am entitled to a non means tested medical card for over 70s so all health care free. However not tested effectiveness yet so we shall see. Trying to keep away from hospitals etc at the moment!

So sorry to hear your news lallym, really disappointing after all this time. I don’t know much about vagal AF but I think it has close links with the digestive system so that might be worth investigating. If it doesn’t revert soon, it might be worth asking about a cardioversion or perhaps PiP treatment or a maintenance dose with something like Flecainide to prevent the rogue impulses from becoming established......good luck, hope you get the help you need.

Kardia has been known to confuse frequent ectopics with AF. I have had slow ‘AF’ but I can see a lot of ectopics/bigeminy. Sickening when you see that first ‘Possible AF’ though. Best wishes 💜

Ok. I will try to get 12 lead ecg done to get fuller picture. Thanks for reply.
