Love him! Looks very tiny? I lost my little black and white cat during lockdown and just have Trevor now (ginger) who won't leave my side.

No big and getting bigger as he is ex-stray and has food obsession, though getting more trusting. Also needs constant company - previous owner abandoned him. He is 13 but doesn’t act it.

He has the look of a b/w stray we adopted some years ago (George) who was obsessed with eating....had to mix rice with his food to slow down transit!

Aaw so beautiful and a lovely companion for you. They do say that stroking a cat can reduce our heart rate.

Lovely cat. My Pete woke me at 6 an to show me a mouse he had caught and then proceeded to eat it whilst purring loudly/

Our Tinker used to do that too - she jumped up on the bed and we were awoken by the sound of crunching! Another time, she came in jumped up on the bed and then down again up and down having a real old dance at 2am in the morning until we realised she had fetched in a mouse to play with! It took us half an hour to find him he was clinging to the inside of one of our bedside cabinets! She was always up for a game and we still miss her dearly.

Also brings in half eaten rabbits and the occasional rat. In the last three years we have had two dishwashers scrapped because mice had eaten the wiring!

We wanted an old cat who wouldn’t chase our garden birds but the RSPCA seems to have misjudged his character somewhat....he can chase pigeons though!

😂🤬🤣

Our jack tackled everything - killed a pheasant one day, Hares and young rats or mice. Nothing got past him.

Wow. He looks gorgeous and what a long tail. Our one year old rescue Burmese has been better for my health than any pills. Hope you have lots more years with him. Our previous cat lived to 23. 😊💖

How lovely of you to have taken in and given a new home to a 13 year old - well done. I'm sure he must be thinking he's died and landed in heaven!

To begin with he wouldn’t let us out of his sight and meowed constantly, we didn’t know if that meant ‘feed me’ or ‘sit down and cuddle me’, but he’s settled now and willing to sleep on my favourite sitting spot or my bed.

As someone mentioned how their cat soothed them I thought a cat pic would be cheering 💜

So lovely you have honed an elderly cat Buffafly, I've had 2 old boys but the current one was 5, she's now 16 and a proper little diva who rules hubby with a puff of iron lol! Lots of happy times with Romeo as he gets more secure and trusting.

Buffafly in reply to Silvasava

Thank you, have to say he was advertised as ‘elderly gentleman’ but far from it, he is very lively and longing to get at fuzzies in the garden, we say he is like Lance Corporal Jones from Dads Army!

Agree completely with Silvasava, it does my heart good to see an oldie given a loving new home, all best wishes to you 😻💐

Lovely cat. I think cats can be as devoted as dogs but you don't have to take them out for walks in all weathers! Ours is 12 but still looks very young and is frisky. We have been having a hard time stopping him from coming on the bed as it's not good for my asthma and though he seems to have finally got the message he is punishing us by refusing to sit on his chair in the bedroom and holing up next door in the computer room. He is cutting off his nose to spite his face as the bedroom chair is right next to the radiator and next door is not being heated yet but that's cats!

Ah he’s beautiful. You’ll have fun with him. I had two rescue cats, both gone now, but both lived to 20 yrs old, and still had daft half hours. Enjoy. xx

Beautiful. I lost my beloved jack in May.

I’d try to teach him to stay off the table!🤭

Buffafly profile image
Buffafly in reply to Dodie117

That’s his bird watching table, we don’t eat off it. Mr Buff likes his meals served on a tray 🙄 so we lock him out if he pesters during mealtimes. He seems to know kitchen worktops not allowed because he’s run away looking very guilty on the couple of occasions I caught him up there. Remembering to lock him in ‘his room’ when we go out is difficult, but he’s not allowed out until his microchip is changed to us. He’s only escaped four times.....

Dodie117 in reply to Buffafly

Is that mr buff that gets locked out🤣?

Enjoy every day with him. He sounds like a character.

We had great fun with our jack and miss him every day.

🤔🤣 Don’t give me ideas.....

Sad about your Jack, I cried buckets when our Hector died and even though that was many years ago I felt quite wobbly about getting a new cat.

He's beautiful.😍 or maybe I should say handsome since he's a boy. I think my cats help me too. Distract me sometimes from all that's going on from my not feeling well to all the chaos in the world. 😻😺

Thank you! He wasn’t when we got him, scrawny with rough sticking up fur and bald patch on his nose and white ear. He is getting more lovely all the time, and very loving and playful. When he wants something he puts a paw on your chest if you are sitting down 💗

Aw, that is so cute!!!! I've got a ginger rescue cat who's 9 now and she is very loving, though always hungry!!!! She is so comforting to me, especially in my current bumpy health situation, and I'm sure, just like your Romeo!
