Scary squiggles on Kardia mobile ecg

Got a fright when took ecg this afternoon. It was unclassified . There were a lot of up and downs very tightly together but I wasn’t feeling/hearing any palpitations. I hadn’t fully read the instructions but when I took it I was sitting virtually underneath large wall mounted TV in the kitchen and it was on and phone charger was plugged in and not attached but lying near phone. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be electrical interference from the TV ? Scared me witless when I saw it happening on the screen

Mine actual reports electrical interference. Charger definitely cannot be plugged in. I tried.

Thanks . Apparently doesn’t always tell you about interference . Other possibility noise from TV as I was more or less underneath and Kardia utilises microphone . The tracing was very scary looking

Anxiety does cloud reason. You can do this.

It certainly clouds mine. In fact obscures it altogether ! 7th day off Biso tomorrow. Thanks !!

I think the term is artifacts. In othr words inteference. You should never use kardia anywhere near a computer or TV or any other EMI creating device.

Thanks Bob. I think we can safely say I have learned that lesson !!

Yep. I tried to use mine once in a noisy restaurant environment and got a very similar scare. You definitely need somewhere quiet and away from electrical gizmos for it to work reliably. Some have reported putting your phone into aircraft mode can also help on occasion.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply . I took a few , the first being the scariest until I thought maybe to turn TV off. My heartbeat felt and sounded ( pulsatile tinnitus ) normal and wasn’t having symptoms but the traces looked terrifying !

That also happens if you haven’t got a good signal - the three little bars should be green but if only one yellow bar shows you get a wobbly recording. I tried to record sitting at my desk next to our house phone and got an ‘electrical interference’ message.

Many thanks for that . What worries me is I didn’t get an electrical interference message ( house phone was close as well as TV ) I got this recording which worries me it was me !

I found if my central air conditioning in running I will get unclassified so I wait till it goes off to take a reading.

Poor you. Why are you coming off Bisoprolol? I would love to but have to take it with Flecainide.

Makes me feel awful. Usual complaints . No energy just feeling awful

Yes I felt very sluggish on it at first but I am used to it now and it doesn't seem so bad. 1.25 is my limit as I am small - 5ft tall and 52kg. Hope you settle and manage without.

Unfortunately been causing lots of tachycardia episodes which don’t last too long but yesterday it turned into a few minutes AF. Have emailed dodgy ECGs from my Kardia to consultant will have to see what he says when he gets back from hols tomorrow. Thank you for your concern and good wishes much appreciated. Stay safe
