Since starting flecainide six years ago, 50 mg twice a day, I have felt ongoing fatigue. I have had no afib in that time period so plan to stay on it nevertheless. I am interested in experiences of others with fatigue side effect. I also take compounded doses of atenolol 13.50 mg in morning, and 6.75 in evening and Lisinopril 3.75 in morning. Evening Atenolol controls PAC’s. Compounded doses allow me to take minimum effective doses.

Flecainide and fatigue
Hi Lvne, it's difficult to know which drug is making you feel tired, but I would guess that it's more likely to be the Atenolol. Aren't you just a little curious as to how you would feel not taking the AF drugs after so many years without AF?

My cardio just routinely wrote me a prescription for daily Flecainide and Bisoprolol. But when I asked if I could have them as pills-in-pocket instead, he said ‘ok’ and prescribed that. He wasn’t bothered and if I hadn’t said anything I’d still be on daily AF meds. Pills-in-pocket works great for me as my episodes are not very frequent. I suspect it’s often worth checking whether daily AF meds are really necessary.
I can't tell which medicine is causing fatigue either. I take 100 mg metoprolol, 20 mg lisinopril, 5 mg amlodipine and 50 mg x2 of flecainide. I know I feel better after cutting flecainide from 300 mg per day.
