Transferring back to warfarin

I have been advised to transfer back to warfarin in order to take the correct tablet for Trigeminal Neuralgia. I have an appointment at the hospital Anti coag clinic tomorrow. I want to carry on eating salads etc. and remember when I was on it before .. that affected my INR. Feeling a bit sad about warfarin as I enjoyed the freedom of apixaban but getting rid of the pain is more important.

Has anyone done the reverse swap?

If you look at MarkS's posts way back, he takes Vit K tablets daily which means that the warfarin dose is higher to get the same INR but any dietary variations have far less percentage affect and his INR is more stable. Clever! Remember dose of warfarin is unim, portant. onmly the resulting INR . If you need to go from 5mg to 7mg for example there is no issue and I know of people taking 13mg or more for INR2.5.

I swapped back to Warfarin because my body did not tolerate Rivaroxaban. As for the effect of certain foods as Bob says the INR is important, not your dose. My diet is 95% vegetarian and my dose 6mg a day.

Thanks Thomas. I have an appointment with the anti coag clinic today. How do you get enough protein with 95% vegetarian. Sounds interesting.
