Have been experiencing a lot of episodes of AF and etopics have already had two abalations but I know this may sound strange but it’s felt that a lot of the etopics start from my stomach it feels like an almighty lurch then my heart starts to speed up has anyone else experienced this it just feels really strange tia

Yes, happens frequently to AF’ers and is explained by the very close proximity of stomach, heart and vagus nerve which is also why so many of us experience triggers from food and drink - sugar, alcohol and caffeine are amongst the commonest but also timing of meals, the amount you eat and whether or not you are in Rest & Digest mode rather than ‘eating on the go’ whilst stressing mode. It does feel strange and I got used to it and is usually a warning to stop and go rest for me.

Thankyou I was beginning think I was imagining it. I don’t have caffeine and alcohol only occasionally but this feeling has been quite frequent lately I have been feeling stressed and extremely fatigued so maybe that’s why, will look up Vagal Af

Stress will be your No1 suspect.

You are not alone! I haven't had ablation but - tachycardia/af will for me start with a feeling of something hot going down into my stomach and as has been already mentioned there is a link to the vagus nerve.
