Coming off Adizem now...

Hallo all.

I have been on adizem SR 90mg twice a day over the last ten days. I was diagnosed with AF during sudden episode after being ill and having prednisalone for a few days.

After three days on Adizem my heart regularised. But pulse rate has been v low - 50-65 and down to 46 in sleep. Makes doing anything hard work and I assume puts strain on my heart!

Asked Gp today if I can stop Adizem now. Got a shirt ECG this afternoon and it was normal so she said I could just stop taking it. The pharmacist said that too as I’d only been on it for ten days but said I could take one a day if I wanted to come off it slowly.

I took one this morning and none this evening. I really want this out of my body now but I don’t want to cause other problems. What experience do others have of coming off Adizem after a short time and why would you advise?

Adizem is Diltiazem.

I was om 200Mg mod release of diltiazem for 10 months and I came off it over a week no problem. I had some 120mg capsules and I went to them for a few days , then one every other day, then stopped.

Thanks. It’s going okay so far on day one after missing two doses.
