Buccastem & Apixaban (my 2nd post this morning)

Apparently Migralieve Pink tablets for Migtaine (the ones with the anti-emetic) are currently unavailable at pharmacies due to supply problems. I asked the pharmacist for alternatives & she suggested Buccastem then Co-codamol once the nausea has passed. Trouble is I’m on Apixaban & would need a prescription for the Buccastem as it can reduce the efficacy of the Apixaban. My feeling is I wouldn’t be able to keep the Apixaban down if vomiting with severe migraine & I would only need the Buccastem as an occasional one off dose. Haven’t seen GP yet - what do you think?

I would definitely speak to your GP (are you able to get a phone appt?). I also take Apixiban and have a prescription for sumatriptan for migraines and it really helps. Nothing worse than a migraine and as you say, with nausea there’s a risk of the Apixiban not being as effective - a risk I certainly wouldn’t want to take.
